The turbocharger works similarly to the jet engine works. The turbocharger has a very similar principle to a piston engine. The turbine housing in the turbocharger leads the exhaust gas to drive a turbine wheel. This spins an air compressor that pushes extra air into the cylinders, allowing them to burn more fuel each second and providing power to the car.
